One-Stop-Shop opened in Batumi

On January 27, 2010, the Civil Society Institute (CSI) opened the Citizens’ Service Center in the Batumi City Hall. The Center, which is based upon the one stop shop principle, is the result of cooperation between CSI and the Mayor’s Office of Batumi, and was made possible by the financial support of Eurasia Partnership Foundation.

Employing the one stop shop will allow the city of Batumi to more easily interact with its citizens, simultaneously improving the effectiveness and transparency of the City Hall’s operations.

The Citizens’ Service Center will allow users to submit requests and receive responses at the same location. City Hall employees, who will be permanently housed at the Center, will consult citizens about all issues with the City Hall’s purview.

The Service Center was officially opened by Vazha Salamadze, Director of the Civil Society Institute, and Robert Chkhaidze, Mayor of Batumi. International and local donors and NGOs attended the opening ceremony.
